Sharla
Mentor, Supervising Therapist, MS,OT/L
Sharla has a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from UNC-Chapel Hill and has over 40 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy. She has practiced OT in a variety of settings including early intervention programs; a university-based, statewide multidisciplinary developmental evaluation clinic; a private practice clinic dedicated to sensory integration therapy; an inpatient psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents and its associated in-house school; and public schools in MA, NM and VA.

Sharla is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has certification or advanced training in the following areas/programs: Therapeutic Listening®, The Alert Program for Self-Regulation®, Brain Gym®, Handwriting without Tears®, the SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests), the Wilbarger Deep Pressure Protocol®, and The Zones of Regulation ®.  Sharla has worked for Pediatric Therapies, Inc. since 2002. Sharla enjoys consulting and teaching and has supervised occupational therapy fieldwork students and Certified OT Assistants practicing in schools.  Over the course of Sharla’s tenure, she has provided multiple teacher in-service trainings geared toward the specific needs of the staff.  Sharla loves helping children succeed in their everyday environments and loves sharing her knowledge of OT with teachers, administrators, parents and peers.

Outside of school, Sharla most enjoys her time with two granddaughters! She also enjoys sewing costumes, attending live theater, and following women’s tennis.  She lives in Chesterfield with her husband of 38 years.

Kay

Kay joined Pediatric Therapies Inc., as an Occupational Therapist, in 2024.  Before coming on board in this position, Kay worked with Virginia Medicaid in the role of Program Advisor. Before moving to Virginia, Kay was the Founding Director of the Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic for Falls Prevention Clinic serving community-dwelling older adults in Texas. Her research experience includes population health research using large data, and community-based health promotion and health education research. Kay’s previous work experience includes having served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in the Department of Occupational Therapy teaching clinical courses including those on treating a wide array of neurological impairments. She has also worked as an occupational therapist in various acute, sub-acute, and community-based clinical settings for more than 15 years. Kay has earned a PhD and MPH from University of Texas Medical Branch, and MSOT from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Kay has specialized in pediatrics and Early Intervention as part of her advanced post-professional research-based Master of Science program in OT. Kay has worked with children with various neurological impairments as well as medically fragile children in different levels of clinical settings all the way from Neurology ICU to Neuro-outpatient clinic, as well as home-based therapy. Outside of her professional life, Kay enjoys spending time with her family, and exploring the great outdoors that Virginia has to offer. Kay lives in Wyndham, Glen Allen with her husband, two children, and a dog.
Adrienne
COTA/L
Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Adrienne developed a love for occupational therapy soon after graduating high school while working as a hand therapy tech. She later relocated to central Virginia to work toward taking the next steps in becoming a certified occupational therapy assistant. 

She graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2017 followed by many years practicing as a COTA in an outpatient setting specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation for patients of all ages. Adrienne also holds extensive experience from numerous healthcare settings including hospital, inpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. She is also proficient in splinting, functional casting, and treating various orthopedic conditions as well as neurological rehabilitation, traumatic brain injuries, and gerontology. 

Although raised in an urban area, she prefers a slower pace of life as she now resides in Chatham with her husband, daughter, and Chocolate Lab. Adrienne personally enjoys time with her family, fitness, running, cooking, crafting, visiting the beach, mountains, or just simply being outdoors. Her husband, daughter, and herself are also fond of wild game hunting, farming, and raising Black Angus and Hereford cattle. 

Since joining our team in August of 2024, Adrienne applies a holistic approach as she continues to build her OT skillset as a school based occupational therapy assistant! 

Megan
MS, OTR/L
Megan has a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology from Quinnipiac University.  She has over 10 years experience as an occupational therapist, with a primary focus on pediatric services in outpatient and school settings and a love for working with children on the Autism Spectrum.  Since 2019, Megan served as a supervising therapist on our team.  In 2023, Megan began serving as a lead therapist with Pediatric Therapies, Inc.

Kirstyn

Kirstyn has worked with Pediatric Therapies since 2015.  She enjoys collaborating with the school teachers and other therapists to provide a holistic approach to each student. In her spare time, Kirstyn enjoys gardening and spending time with her family and friends. 
Marlo
Supervising OT, MS, OTR/L
Since 2020, Marlo’s served as a supervising therapist with Pediatric Therapies, Inc. Marlo experience includes serving adult and pediatric clients.  As a member of our team, she enjoys using her expertise to support students and her team members.
Terry
MS, OTR/L
Terry received her Bachelor of Science degree from Longwood College and also has a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia.  She has a combined 21 years of experience as an occupational therapist, with 7 years of being in outpatient therapy, 13 years of outpatient/skilled nursing/long term care/assisted living, and 1 year of school-based therapy.  Terry joined Pediatric Therapies in September of 2023 and has enjoyed the slower pace, flexibility, and services that can be provided to support her students.
Outside of school, Terry enjoys spending time with her family and friends, fitness, walking outdoors, and beach vacations.  She and her 2 children – as well as their dog Ressie – live in Prince Edward County.

Trish has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2018. She earned her degree at Rutgers University’s School of Health Professions. Before starting her OTA degree, she earned a Bachelors of Science in Health Promotions from the University of Lynchburg in 2014.

Trish started her career with Pediatric Therapies in 2021 working with early childhood special education up to 5th grade. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Adam, daughter Evie, and two dogs Waylon, and Lucy.
