Kathleen Redford is a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant. In 2008, she received her Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Kathleen’s love for occupational therapy began at a young age. She started working for Progressive Therapy, Inc. in Farmville in 2000, at the age of 15, as a rehab technician. She worked there for 10 years while attending high school and college. During her time at Progressive Therapy, Inc., Kathleen traveled to all of their clinics and was able to learn how outpatient therapy operates as a rehab technician and front-end coordinator. Since obtaining her OTA degree, Kathleen has expanded her knowledge of therapy by gaining experience in skilled nursing facilities and also school systems.
Kathleen has been employed by Pediatric Therapies since August 2016 and also completed her internship with the company in 2008 under the supervision of Claire Rose, OTR/L. She started working in the school system in 2014 and spent 2 years serving Nottoway and Brunswick County. She has served as an occupational therapy assistant in Prince Edward County for the past two years. Kathleen enjoys getting to know the children and providing them with strategies to increase their success in the school setting. She feels fortunate to be able to work with kids in the environment that is the primary occupation of childhood. Kathleen enjoys interacting with a variety of personality types and collaborating with other professionals along with family members. She is a friendly communicator who is able to effectively and efficiently educate those around her regarding OT-related strategies.
Kathleen is married with 2 children and resides in Burkeville, VA. Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family and attending her small country church. She loves going to the beach and the lake with her husband and their 2 sons.
