Renee has been a licensed physical therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia for ten years. Prior to that, she practiced physical therapy in NC for twenty years. Renee is a 1992 graduate of East Carolina University. She has worked in a number of practice settings including acute care, neuro rehabilitation (serving as the stroke team leader), home health and nursing homes during her twenty-three year career.
Renee joined Pediatric Therapies, Inc. in 2014 and is very excited to expand her knowledge in the field of pediatric physical therapy. She has extensive training in seating and wheelchair positioning, use of neuro-developmental techniques, and recently attended a course on relationship-based interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Renee is married to Reece Barefoot, an engineer, and they have three children, Jade (20), Zach (18) and Sydney Grace (14). During her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, camping and travel, and spending time with her family.
